Issue 43
ARC Field Officers have observed refrigerant cylinders in the back of open-type vehicles, exposed to direct sunlight. Storing cylinders that are exposed to direct sunlight can lead to pressure levels rising and refrigerant being purged through the safety device and into the atmosphere. Not only is this dangerous, it is bad for the environment and is a breach of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989. This document contains information on COP, standards, Safework and actions.
