ARC is the national licensing body for the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector, with key representation throughout industry.
By industry and for industry, ARC’s members and Board are the leaders of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.
Our members are made up of all the mainstream refrigeration and air conditioning associations around Australia, and our Board consists of nominated and voted member representatives. Three directors responsible for the stationary sector and three directors responsible for the automotive sector. The ARC CEO is the executive director.
The Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (ARC) provides leadership, value and knowledge of the climate control industry through:
ARC administers refrigerant handling licences (RHLs) and refrigerant trading authorisations (RTAs) on behalf of the Australian Government, to professionals in the refrigeration/air conditioning and automotive industries.
We also administer the industry’s first national Alternative Refrigerants (Natural and HFO) Accreditation Scheme – the Green Scheme. The Green Scheme Accreditation program provides a pathway for refrigeration and air conditioning technicians to upskill, and facilitates the use of new and emerging refrigerants and technologies into the industry.
We sit on numerous government and industry panels relating to energy efficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning products, training and regulations in the industry.
Our vision
A safe, environmentally friendly and dynamic climate control industry.
