MEDIA RELEASE

ARC Chairman re-elected at AGM, plus new talent to guide industry

In a strong sign of confidence and stability for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, the Board of the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has re-elected Michael Bennett to the role of Chairman at the ARC Annual General Meeting on the 25th November.

Michael’s hands-on experience working with industry and government has provided the ARC and industry with the leadership required to successfully navigate the challenges of COVID-19 and deliver consistent results for the sector.

In addition, the ARC welcomed Greg Picker, Executive Director of Refrigerants Australia and Scott Williams, CEO of Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association to the Board.

Greg brings a wealth of knowledge from the refrigerants and products sectors, as well as being an influential advocate for the industry at a Government level. Scott has in-depth knowledge of the environmental licensing scheme, and is highly-respected across the broader industry—including government, regulators and other industry bodies.

Directors Mark Padwick and Sumit Oberoi retired from their positions on the Board. On behalf of the Board, Michael Bennett thanked Mark and Sumit for their influence on the Board and service to the industry, highlighting Mark’s previous role as Chairman.

All Board members volunteer their time because they share a similar passion for the industry and a drive to help it succeed. The ARC Board plays a significant role as stewards of the national refrigeration and air conditioning licence scheme, as well as leading initiatives in training, innovation, education and advocacy for the sector.

The ARC Board and membership is truly characteristic of the mainstream refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) industry, including people and groups representing technicians, businesses, designers, wholesalers and manufacturers in both the RAC and automotive air conditioning sectors.
